Life Story for Max H. Lell

Max H.  Lell
Max H. Lell, 93, of the village of Camillus, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at home. A lifetime resident of Camillus, he was born on Thursday, October 18, 1917 and was the son of Max Lell and Marie Belge Lell. He was a graduate of Camillus High School.

Max was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theatre. He was also the owner of Maxie's Luncheonette from 1946-1962 and retired from Fay's Drugs in 1983. He was a member of the Camillus Memorial Day Parade Committee for 63 years and member of the Camillus Baptist Church for more than 78 years and trustee for 20 years. He was also a life member and past commander of VFW Herbert D. Rossberg Post 8664. An avid bowler, he enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family and friends.

Max was predeceased by his wife, the former Eleanor Seymour, in 1987.

Surviving are his daughter, Janet Lell of Camillus; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Kathy Lell of Baldwinsville; grandsons, John and David Lell; great-grandson, Wesley Lell; many nieces and nephews; and special niece, Annette Dunn of Pulaski.

Relatives and friends may call Thursday, September 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be Friday, September 23 at 10:30 a.m. in Camillus Baptist Church with Rev. Wally Habel officiating.

Max will be laid to rest in Maplewood Cemetery, Camillus.
