Obituary for Jeanne E. Dollard

Jeanne E. Dollard, 80, of Syracuse, died Sunday, April 20, 2008 after a short illness. She lived in Baldwinsville and Camillus for many years and at the Bernardine Apartments since 2005 where she had many friends among the staff and residents. Born in Syracuse, on Wednesday, March 21, 1928, Jeanne was the youngest daughter of Edmund Aloysius Dollard and Marie Agnes O'Neil Dollard.

Jeanne was a 1946 graduate of Nottingham High School and a 1950 graduate of Syracuse University. She retired from WTVH-5 after 30 years, where she worked as assistant to the general manager.

An avid golfer and skier, Jeanne was a member of the Syracuse Ski Club, Aluski Ski Club and several golf leagues. She also enjoyed sailing and spending time at Skaneateles Lake. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and Unity Kitchens well into her retirement.

Jeanne was predeceased by her sister, Mary McCormick, and brothers, Edmund and Robert Dollard.

Surviving are her sister-in-law, Sarah Dollard; nieces and nephews, Kathleen and Fred Weinheimer, Susan and Robert Tschernjawski, Nancy and David Olson, Anne Dollard, Mary and Stephen Dougherty, R.J. Dollard, Michael and Sue McCormick, John McCormick, Patricia and Jason Jeffers, Mary and Jim McGowan, Patrick Dollard, Sharon and John Blanchard, and Michael Dollard; 21 great-nieces and great-nephews; four great-great-nieces; and great-great-nephews; and many special friends.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2008 in St. Joseph's Church, Camillus, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Gregory LeStrange. Family and friends are welcome to gather at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
