Obituary for Helen M. Brown

Helen McCauley Brown, 86, of Camillus, died Monday, April 14, 2008 at the Francis House. Born in Richmond, Ontario, Canada on Wednesday, December 14, 1921, she was the daughter of Roderick McCauley and Ann Kavanaugh McCauley. She grew up in Tupper Lake before moving to Watertown in 1964. Helen also lived in Leesburg, Florida from 1985 until moving to Syracuse in 2005. She was employed by the Watertown School District for ten years. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church and former communicant of St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church in Eustis, Florida.

Helen enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking and spending time with her family.

Her husband of 50 years, Alexander D. Brown, died September 13, 1994.

Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Jo-Anne and Paul Nicholson and Judy and Shawn Fazio, all of Syracuse; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Carol Brown of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Terrance and Terri Brown of Layton, Utah and Patrick and Jo-Anne Brown of Manitou Springs, Colorado; 11 grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Dick Boushie, Teresa and Don Brunette, Catherine and Earl Fletcher and Jean Bourbeau; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Buranich Funeral Home in Camillus. Burial will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
