Obituary for William F. Renshaw

William F.  Renshaw
William F. Renshaw, 66, of Camillus, died Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at Community-General Hospital. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Monday, April 21, 1941, he was the son of Herbert Franklin Renshaw and Margaret Jean Keller Renshaw. He moved to Syracuse more than 60 years ago and was a graduate of West Genesee High School.

Bill was a dispatcher with the Onondaga County Sheriffs' Department for more than 18 years, retiring in 1989 and was also a former dispatcher for the Camillus Police Department. He was a life member and past chief of the Camillus Fire Department and honorary member of their ladies' auxiliary. He was an honorary member of the Fairmount Fire Department and former treasurer of OCVFA. He was a member of the Western Section Line Officers' Association, Onondaga County Chiefs' Association and FASNY. A former member of the Camillus Elks, Bill was also a former Camillus village trustee and judge for the Onondaga County Firemen's Races.

Surviving are his wife of 31 years, the former Lynn Kenyon; sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher and Nancy Renshaw of Norfolk, Virginia, James Renshaw of Solvay, Kevin and Tammy Renshaw of Norfolk, Virginia, Scott Renshaw of Solvay, and Andrew and Kara Renshaw of Syracuse; daughter, Keri Renshaw of Elbridge; sisters, Kay Cox of Denham Springs, Louisiana and Judy Teafatiller of Denham Springs, Louisiana; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald Renshaw of Denham Springs, Louisiana, Mike and Sue Renshaw of Camillus and Steve and Dawn Renshaw of Albuquerque, New Mexico; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend, Mike Messere of Elbridge.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, November 12, 2007 at Camillus First Baptist Church, 21 Genesee St., Camillus with the Rev. Paul Bailey officiating. Friends may call Sunday, November 11, 2007 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Camillus.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the William Renshaw Fund, c/o Westar Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 60, Camillus, NY 13031.
