John B.  Preston
John Brand Preston, 87, of Camillus, died Saturday, February 24, 2007 at St. Camillus Health & Rehabilitation Center after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease. Born in Camillus on Friday, July 18, 1919, he was the son of Francis and Alta Preston. A graduate of Solvay High School and a 1947 graduate of Syracuse University Law School, he was a lawyer for 51 years, retiring in 1999. John was also employed by Traveler´s Insurance for 34 years, retiring in 1982. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He was also a member of the Camillus Elks.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, the former Helen Pfeffer; daughters and son-in-law, Elizabeth Preston of Solvay, Barbara Preston-Potter and George Potter of Laguna Niguel, California and Kathleen Preston of Albany; son and daughter-in-law, James and Gwenn Preston of Lake Forest, California and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2007 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church with Father Craig R. Swan officiating. Arrangements are by the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Burial will be private at Woodlawn Cemetery in Syracuse..
