Obituary for Patricia "Pat" S. Bassett

Patricia "Pat" S.  Bassett
Patricia Pat S. Bassett, 78, of Syracuse, died Friday, November 24, 2006 at home. Born in Chicago, Illinois on Saturday, July 21, 1928, she was the daughter of Raymond W. Sibbert and Muriel P. Martin. She lived in Syracuse since 1970.

Pat was a graduate of the University of Michigan and the University of Buffalo. A teacher for the West Genesee Central School District in Camillus for 15 years, she retired in 1985. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and the Christian Church of the Resurrection. A volunteer at Sunnyside Care Center, Van Duyn Home & Hospital and Hospice of CNY, Pat was also a charter member of Western Area Volunteer Emergency Services.

Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Thomas G. Bassett; sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond and Patricia Bassett of Webster and Kenneth and Penny Bassett of Camillus; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Thomas Finneran of Sumner, Washington and seven grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2006 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church with a reception to follow. Arrangements are by the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
