Life Story for Roy F. Tank III

Roy F.  Tank III
Roy F. Tank III, 65, of Onondaga Hill, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011at home. Born in Syracuse on December 10, 1945, he was the son of Roy Tank Jr. and Marie Clark Tank. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of West Genesee High School and attended Onondaga Community College. Roy was employed as a machine repairman for New Process Gear for 30 years, retiring in 2002. He was also co-editor of “The Mouse.” He was a former volunteer fireman for Moyers Corners Fire Department and Sentinel Heights Fire Department. He was a member of the Otisco Rod & Gun Club and enjoyed classical cars, Irish music, Scottish culture and discussing politics.

Surviving are his wife of 18 years, the former Sally Machin; daughters and son-in-law, Cory Clark of Chicago, Illinois, and Danielle and Matt Peek of Macon, Georgia; sons and daughters-in-law, Eric and Lori Tank of Annandale, Virginia, and Roy and Mindy Tank IV of Macon, Georgia; five grandchildren; mother, Marie Tank of Syracuse; brother and sister-in-law, William and Lois Tank of Skaneateles; and nieces and nephews, Trevor, Heather, Sarah, Tim and Mackenzie.

Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, December 10 at White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt with Rev. Gary Ferner officiating. Arrangements are by the Buranich Funeral Home, Camillus.

A "celebration of life" will follow at Coleman's Restaurant on Tipperary Hill.
